Within an Infant/Toddler Montessori environment, the child feels empowered to develop. The materials within the classroom are chosen specifically for the age of the child. Self-contained "work" is placed on a low shelf, so that the child can easily utilize them. A small rug is provided to define a child's personal space; one in which they can feel independence of others in their selection of materials. All aspects of the environment are inspected to insure safety & security of a child being able to fully explore at their own developmental level.

The Montessori Method focuses on allowing a child to learn in a hands-on environment, that is custom-made to each child's individual educational needs.

The children work with materials that are self-contained and placed on shelves for easy accessibility. Every month we focus on several different educational themes to enhance the learning process, so that the children are exposed to as many concepts as possible.

Our total classroom area is 450 sq ft. Children work in the areas of Sensorial, Practical Life, & Language; with highlights in Math, Science, Board Books, & Object Permanence. We are also teaching the toddlers Spanish in the form of letters, numbers, and object recognition. Our classroom is split into two distinct areas, Infants/Young Toddlers and Older Toddlers/Preschool so that both age groups can work on activities that are age-appropriate to their different educational needs.

The children eat meals & snacks at a low table with cube chairs, so they can engage in school provided meals with their friends.

Parents are able to enjoy the comfort of a safe in-home program, with a separate classroom in a small group setting. Our overall group size is small compared with most Childcare Centers. We offer a 1 teacher to 6 children ratio with a maximum of 12 children and 2 teachers in the classroom.

Wendy Spencer, is a Credentialed Montessori Teacher for Birth - Three Years (through the National Center of Montessori Education, Sacramento, CA, 1996). Wendy also has a Degree in Child Development. She has been a Montessori Infant/Toddler Teacher since 1996, and Director of her own Montessori Infant/Toddler School since July 1997. We are celebrating our 11th school year in Roseville, CA.
