June Curriculum
For June’s Curriculum, will be focusing on the beginning of Summer, Father’s Day, Ladybugs, various other Insects, Vegetable Gardening, and South America. We will also have new songs to sing, books to read, and curriculum related painting/insect banners. Morning/School Day Pick-up Per the priority registration document for 21-22, starting this month (June 2021) our school day hours will shift to 3:45pm close with a 15 minute grace period to pick up until 4pm (Morning class will shift to 11:45am with a 15 minute grace period till 12pm). I have on-going commitments that will begin shortly after our closing time each day, and through the end of the school year, May, 2022. This means I will no longer be able to accommodate habitually late pick ups after 4:00pm. Clothing Request A few students are beginning to wear dresses. We request that all children wearing dresses please wear a layer of clothing over their underwear, under their dress while at school. These can consist of shorts, legging, or a diaper covering. Having this layer of extra clothing will create a barrier when going down slides outside, sitting on the lunch benches, and sitting on the wool rugs in the classroom. Food Program Starting this month, our school will begin participating in the CA Dept of Education Food Program. This means the state will partially reimbursed us for serving three meals per day for School Day children, and two meals per day for Morning children. Paperwork to be signed by each family will follow this month. Thank you for your cooperation! June Information Update Please continue to assess your child’s health each morning before bringing them to preschool. Summer is upon us, and we hope for a continued illness-free season. We require children do not attend school if they exhibit any of these illness symptoms - runny nose, congestion, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, fever - until all symptoms are gone for 72 hours. Keeping your child home when feeling under the weather will help to keep other students, parents, co-workers and extended family from missing work and special events. https://www.facebook.com/woodcreek.montessori.preschool June Curriculum Songs ~ Woodcreek Montessori School The Insects Outside Sing to: “Wheels on the Bus” The fireflies at night go blink, blink, blink Blink, blink, blink Blink, blink, blink The fireflies at night go blink, blink, blink Out in the garden The bees in the flowers go buzz, buzz, buzz Buzz, buzz, buzz Buzz, buzz, buzz The bees in the flowers go buzz, buzz, buzz Out in the garden Continue with the other verses: crickets/field/chirp ants/in the grass/march caterpillars/on the leaves/munch spiders/in the bush/spin their webs butterflies/in the sky/flit ladybugs/on the wall/have lots of spots worms/in the ground/wiggle and squirm mosquitos outside/get smacked Little Wiggle Worm Sing to: “I’m a Little Teapot” I’m a little wiggle worm, watch me go I can wiggle fast, or very, very slow I wiggle all around, then back I go Down, into the ground, to the home I know The Ladybug When strolling through the garden You should chance to see A ladybug out walking Please say ‘Hi” for me.
