June Curriculum
For June’s Curriculum, will be focusing on the beginning of Summer, Father’s Day, Ladybugs, various other Insects, Vegetable Gardening, and South America. We will also have new songs to sing, books to read, and curriculum related painting/insect banners.

June Schedule
June will begin our Summer/School Year, 22-23 new prices and hours. To be able to enjoy our indoor, courtyard, and outdoor areas please bring your child between 8:30am - 8:45am daily. Morning class will continue to end at 11:45am with staggered pick-ups accommodated until 12noon. Our School Day class will end at 3:30pm with staggered pick-ups accommodated until 3:45pm. At 3:46pm, $2/minute late fees will apply.

Our school day will begin with the Indoor Classroom. While the Outdoor Classroom may be tempting, it is important that all students come inside to get their temperature taken and hands washed before beginning their day. For the safety of the children we will not begin the day on the patio, as we need to make sure all students have arrived and are securely indoors so I can lock the outer patio gate while we are in the outdoor classroom.

We will use the summer to experiment with different activities in each of the three learning areas (Indoor Classroom, Outdoor Classroom, and Outdoor Playground) to create a schedule of when we will access each area based on our curriculum set for each month, the weather, and shade/sun of each area to maximize the educational development of each child. We are hopeful the children will enjoy the new materials.

June Curriculum Songs ~ Woodcreek Montessori School
The Insects Outside
Sing to: “Wheels on the Bus”
The fireflies at night go blink, blink, blink
Blink, blink, blink
Blink, blink, blink
The fireflies at night go blink, blink, blink
Out in the garden
The bees in the flowers go buzz, buzz, buzz
Buzz, buzz, buzz
Buzz, buzz, buzz
The bees in the flowers go buzz, buzz, buzz
Out in the garden

Continue with the other verses:
crickets/field/chirp
ants/in the grass/march
caterpillars/on the leaves/munch
spiders/in the bush/spin their webs
butterflies/in the sky/flit
ladybugs/on the wall/have lots of spots
worms/in the ground/wiggle and squirm
mosquitos outside/get smacked

Little Wiggle Worm
Sing to: “I’m a Little Teapot”
I’m a little wiggle worm, watch me go
I can wiggle fast, or very, very slow
I wiggle all around, then back I go
Down, into the ground, to the home I know

The Ladybug
When strolling through the garden
You should chance to see
A ladybug out walking
Please say ‘Hi” for me.
For a ladybug is a good bug
And she helps the garden grow,
She’s supposed to bring good luck
So be sure to say, ‘Hello’.

The Vegetable Song
Sing to: “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”
Carrots, peas, and broccoli.
Vegetables are good for me.
For my snack, and in my lunch,
Veggie sticks are great to munch.
Carrots, peas, and broccoli.
Vegetables are good for me.
Some Families
Some families are large
(spread arms out wide)
Some families are small
(bring arms close together)
But I love my family
(cross arms over chest)
Best of all !

Out in the Garden
Out in the garden, under the sun, grew some
Carrots, (child 1) picked one.
Out in the garden, under skies so blue, grew some
Broccoli, (child 2) picked two.
Out in the garden, near a big oak tree, grew some
Lettuce, (child 3) picked three.
Out in the garden, by the back door, grew some
Tomatoes, (child 4) picked four.
Out in the garden, near a beehive, grew some
Radishes, (child 5) picked five.
We took all those vegetables and washed the
Whole bunch, then we all sat down
And ate them for lunch.

Thank You Tune
Sing to: “If you’re Happy and you know it”
When my Grandpa gives me something,
I say, thank you.
When my Grandma gives me something,
I say thank you.
I can see it makes people happy, when I say it so
Politely, yes good manners means to always say
Thank you.

If I spill my drink at lunch,
I say, I’m sorry.
If I break something of yours,
I say, I’m sorry.
I can see it makes people happy, when I say it so
Politely, yes good manners means to always say
I’m sorry.

If I bump into someone,
I say, excuse me.
When I need to interrupt,
I say, excuse me.
I can see it makes people happy, when I say it so
Politely, yes good manners means to always say
Excuse me.
